VisABLE is the UK's first professional agency representing only actors and models with disabilities.

The original idea of placing disabled models in advertising campaigns for everyday products was started off in 1993 by Louise Dyson, founder of the well respected Louise Dyson Agency.

This was a result of having been asked by Sunrise, a longstanding client, to help organise "Model in a Million" held in 1994, the first competition to find disabled artists, models and presenters to model. Sunrise wanted to find genuine disabled people to model their range of mobility products.

An entirely new idea had emerged and Louise launched Europe's first initiative to promote the idea of disabled models to the advertising industry.

Since 1994, Louise has organised a major publicity campaign resulting in a colossal number of features in virtually every national newspaper, including :

Most TV channels have filmed interviews and documentary programmes about the initiative, including..The BBC...Channel 4...Sky TV....plus most of the independent ITV companies, from Carlton to Granada. There have been around 50 television programmes on the VisABLE agency in the UK but we have also aroused enough interest overseas to encourage foreign TV companies to send film crews to record programmes about our disabled modelling idea, including the main channels in: Germany...Italy...USA...Japan...even Russia.

It has taken us several years to achieve this much but finally, we really feel that we have put the whole idea of disabled models on the map. Most people will now have encountered the idea that a disabled model in an ordinary advertisement is a possibility.

In Spring 1999, Louise sold the Louise Dyson Agency to concentrate on building her agency to promote artists with disabilities, acting, modelling and presenting.
